Examples of collaboration taking place at Skyview:
I feel like my whole world and the library is about collaboration. It just depends on the level I can go with it all.
- My aides worked with me to make an iMovie book trailer for this class, the movie was then sent out to the language arts iPad team by my TL as a example for using iMovie for literary and other applications that could create potential for more collaboration.
- Grade level presentations in the library on using resources for enjoyment and research purposes.
- Computer lab research project: I had a language arts class in for a week teaching research outlining and citing references. She used the lab and I helped her students with setting up their references, using ms word, printing etc…
- Broadcasting students, as well as many other classes, use the library space frequently for news reports and academic projects. The Skyview News is broadcast to the student once a week on Fridays during REACH.
- The library often provides World Book resources and non-fiction books from the general collection to the history teachers on such topics pertinent to their teaching units.
- The library staff collaborated with the history teacher to host a delegation of Japanese students at the beginning of school.
- The teacher work room provides a plethora of tools, materials, equipment, and curriculum available for check out. We have an organized work space with laminating tools and butcher paper that teachers use frequently, and my aides proved service to the teachers in these areas as well.
- The TL works with iPad teams doing lessons designed for iPad, especially classes on apps and their educational use in the classroom.
